Hinting at their strategic mechanics, they say “players can embark on monster hunt quests… and construct towering monoliths to court favour with the dark gods.” Their army lists at present consist mainly of Marauders and Chaos Hounds, but CA say they’re adding “War Mammoths and Skin Wolves,” possibly among others. CA say Norsca will be added to that combined map in another, later, update.
#Total war warhammer norsca large units update#
Shortly after the sequel’s release, owners of both it and the original will get a free update adding a combined campaign map from both games. Kurgan are pure chaos through and through, they're insane and the Hung are just as bad.CA say the DLC will introduce two new playable factions led by unique legendary lords – from the trailer (and some new screens) one is Wulfrik the Wanderer, a Norscan champion famous for challenging the world’s strongest warriors, and the other is Throgg, the Troll King. Norsca and Skeggi are way more unique than the other Northmen tribes because they're less corrupted and more Scandinavian influenced than pure fantasy death metal savages like the others are characterised as. The fact they have some Kurgan stuff now, doesn't mean they cant flesh out Kurgans later and make mammoths exclusive to them. At the same time Norsca has Horsemen and Mammoths which are clearly have Mammoths because its a DLC seller. There is nothing to replace them since Kurgan and hung have absolutely nothing. Or would you be okay with tilean lords and units being part of the Empire? The other chaos barbarians and Albion are represented by norsca for the same reason tilea, estalia, the new world colonies and kislev are currently represented by the empire.Īnd I think this is indeed a good compromise that norsca represents them on the map, as I think it is a good compromise to see the other factions as empire reskins.īut it is just that, a compromise, and should not be offical.
The Dolgan are a kurgan tribe in the Southern chaos wastes and will most likely also be Norscan when added. It makes absolutely zero sense to separate them. Hung and Aghol are already represented as Norscan and the same will happen with the Kurgan in the east. Reversing this development would reverse norsca new position and disturb the WoC reason to exist. Now some people often say Norsca should be rebranded as Tribes of Chaos, to justify such inclusions.īut we already have the Warriors of Chaos for this exact purpose, aka to represent the mortal followers of chaos, including the various chaotic tribes, which originally included Norsca before CA gave it an update. We do not get imperial characters for bretonnia or vise versa after all. Otherwise I would also like to see a shaman and a fimir as regular lords.īeyond this almost every addition would be a good addition, except for Units and characters which do not belong to norsca, like Sayl the Faithless. With norscas already strong focus on were-creatures this would be a nice addition. According to some sources Beserker originally meant bear-skinned and depending on the source these warriors gained the metaphorical or literal strenghth of a bear (aka becoming one). I would like to see were-bears and beorn bearstruck for norsca. Make them the elite version of the marauder berserkers that have decent armor. It wouldn't be a melee powerhouse, but a monster to support your infantry and deal damage over time to the enemy line. It would also have a acidic breath ability, poison attacks, and an ability called Malignant Gaze which would act as Soulblight. Something that would mesh well with Norsca's playstyle.Ī large eight legged lizard with an AOE damage effect for models engaging in melee combat to represent its Corrosive Miasma rule. It would be the equivalent of a great eagle, but with a slowing aura.
The same as your regular ettin, but with a couple bound death and shadow spells.Ī flying monster that can slow enemies in base contact with it.
Mounts: Norscan Warhorse, Marauder Chariot, CockatriceĪ two headed giant that would have health regen while in combat to represent its Cannibal Feast rule and an AOE leadership debuff to represent the Gibbering Curse rule. Personally, I would love to see Lord Mortkin and Sayl the Faithless as legendary lords. 2K A Total War Saga: Thrones of Britannia.846 A Total War Saga: Fall of the Samurai.
